Sunday on the Key

Sandpiper on our beach walk
Back again - didn't write yesterday as no time left in the day! The day started with a wee walk on the beach for me and Pat, and the sisters did coffee at Panera and had another grand visit.

We got a little sun and then headed to Marina Jack's for lunch, then concretes for dessert and a little shopping for Gweneth for her grandkids. Dinner at home, and then Canasta - pairs!! Gweneth claimed Pat for her partner about 2 days ago, and Janet and I whipped them something fierce.

Today we went to Station 400 for breakfast and then headed for Tampa airport to drop Gweneth off for her 2:30 flight which we last heard was delayed until around 6 p.m.

Pat and I went over to Anna Maria Island on our way back to Sarasota - this is where Pat's 1st cousin Sheila's son has bought a place so we thought we'd have a peek. It's a big 5 bedroom, and backs onto a dredged creek so all the home owners can get their boats out ...nice place.

So we walked out to the Anna Maria Island historic City Pier and from there we could see the big bridge that spans the bay and lots of fishermen/women. Apparently dolphins abound but we didn't see any today.

We did a little shopping and I got a lovely beach dress, along with a waffle sweater...good prices and first thing I bought except for groceries.

On our way home we went through Longboat Key and had another look around, and finally home in the pouring rain.

I think it will be an early night.
